    Urban growth are hosting a meeting to update stakeholders and community groups on the Central to Eveleigh and North Eveleigh Plans.

    The Urban Growth email about this meeting says it’s an “Open space and community uses workshop”. Which is funny because when I attended the public meeting on 12 November, hardly anyone wanted to talk about open space and community issues. The only issue people rightly wanted to talk about was the 20 storey towers and how this would impact on our neighbourhood. Urban Growth have totally ignored these concerns in their subsequently updated plans. They also misrepresented the views expressed in the meeting in their subsequent report of the meeting. Looks like they’ve decided to build the towers come what may and this so called workshop is simply a box ticking exercise to make it look like they’re continuing to consult the community. Hopefully there will be a good turnout tomorrow and people will continue to express views about what really matters to them.
